Tragic accident on the Northern Marmara Motorway! There are dead and injured...
Two people died and 4 were injured after a pickup truck collided with a car on the Kocaeli section of the Northern Marmara Motorway.
A pickup truck with license plate 34 CZK 737, driven by Ö.A. and traveling in the direction of Istanbul on the Northern Marmara Motorway, rear-ended a car with license plate 31 ACS 759, driven by A.S., in the Sevindikli area.
The pickup truck swerved and overturned, while the car came to a stop after skidding for approximately 100 meters.
Upon notification, gendarmerie, medical, and fire department teams were dispatched to the scene of the accident.
The driver of the car, A.S., who was reportedly returning from Hatay where he had gone with his family for a holiday visit, lost his life at the Gebze Fatih State Hospital, where he had been taken, while his daughter S.S. (17) died at the scene of the accident.
Two injured people from the car and two from the pickup truck were taken to nearby hospitals by ambulance. It was reported that the condition of the injured is good.
The body of S.S. was taken to the morgue of the Körfez Asri Cemetery following the crime scene investigation.
Traffic in the direction of Istanbul, which was provided in a controlled manner for a while due to the accident, returned to normal after the vehicles were removed.
