Two-year-old child loses life, older sister critically injured
In a tragic accident in the Akyazı district of Sakarya, a farm vehicle known as a 'patpat,' driven by a 12-year-old child, struck two young siblings. Two-year-old Eslem Ayaz lost her life in the accident, while her 6-year-old sister was critically injured. The young driver of the vehicle has been taken into custody.
The tragic accident occurred in the Dokurcun Dedeler neighborhood. According to information obtained, the farm vehicle driven by A.T. (12), who was operating his father's vehicle within the village, struck Eslem Ayaz (2) and her older sister N.A. (6). The two young siblings were thrown by the impact and sustained critical injuries.
Upon notification, health and gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the scene. The injured siblings were taken to Akyazı State Hospital following initial intervention.

However, little Eslem Ayaz could not be saved despite all interventions by doctors.
N.A., whose condition is critical, was transferred to Sakarya Training and Research Hospital for treatment.
Following the accident, the driver of the vehicle, A.T., was taken into custody to be brought before the Akyazı Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. The gendarmerie's investigation into the accident is ongoing.
