Woman arriving for childbirth has husband removed from hospital by police
In Aydın, a woman who arrived at a maternity hospital at midnight to give birth had her husband removed from the hospital by police. Upon the woman's complaint, the husband was escorted out of the hospital by security and removed from the hospital premises by police. The woman then proceeded to the delivery ward to give birth.
The unusual incident took place at the Aydın Maternity and Children's Hospital.
According to the information obtained, a woman who arrived at the hospital at midnight to give birth stated that she did not want her husband, who wished to accompany her, and requested that hospital security remove him from the premises.
When the husband, whom hospital security attempted to escort out, objected and insisted on accompanying his wife, the hospital police intervened.
TEAMS DISPATCHED
Upon the woman's request, several teams performing routine patrols in the area were dispatched to the Maternity and Children's Hospital via the hospital police, and under the instructions of the 112 Command Center, the husband, whose wife had come to the hospital, was removed from the hospital vicinity as well.
While the unusual incident surprised everyone, it was learned that the husband was removed from the hospital within the scope of the woman's protection and women's rights.
Meanwhile, it was learned that the woman who came to the hospital to give birth had arrived from a women's shelter.
