4 more deputies on the way to the NEW Party: 'We will do what is necessary' message to mayors in CHP
While the absolute null management in the CHP expects a clear stance from mayors until the meeting to be held in August, it is being discussed in the lobbies that four more CHP deputies may join the NEW Party.
Following the establishment of the NEW Party by Özgür Özel and the 90 deputies accompanying him, the debate over which political line mayors in the CHP will take has come to the fore. In party lobbies, it is stated that some mayors have begun to switch to the NEW Party, while others tend to remain in the CHP.
While the Özel front claims that more than 200 municipalities will join the NEW Party, CHP staff are of the opinion that many municipalities will remain under the party's umbrella. It is stated that the CHP administration will not directly intervene with those who want to leave, but expects a clear political affiliation from the mayors who will remain in the party.
"IF THEY DO NOT MAKE THEIR OWN DECISIONS, WE WILL DO WHAT IS NECESSARY"
According to CHP sources, the party administration's priority is to work in "harmony and cooperation" with the municipalities. For this reason, the message is being given that it is not possible to continue with those who both remain in the CHP and take a political position against the party.
"It is not possible for us to walk the path with those who both remain in the CHP and take a stand against our party. Mayors must now clearly decide which side they will stand on. If they are to remain under the CHP umbrella, they must continue to work in harmony and cooperation with us. Everyone must clarify their political position by the mayors' meeting we will hold this month. If those who cause hesitation regarding their political affiliation do not make their own decisions, we will do what is necessary."
Eyes in the party have turned to the mayors' meeting planned for August. It is expected that mayors who remain undecided will clarify their positions by this meeting.
4 MORE DEPUTIES MAY JOIN THE NEW PARTY
On the other hand, it is claimed that some deputies who did not switch to the NEW Party and remained in the CHP, and who continue to demand a party congress, are in contact with Özgür Özel and his team. According to the information obtained, it is stated that four deputies are holding accession talks with NEW Party staff and that there is a high probability that these individuals will join the party in August.
