Another resignation in the CHP... He will join the NEW Party

Ceyhan Mayor Kadir Aydar made a notable statement at the CHP Ceyhan District Advisory Board meeting held at the Murat Göğebakan Cultural Center in Adana. Stating that Turkey is in need of a politics that inspires hope, Aydar shared with all participants that he has resigned from the CHP and decided to continue his struggle in the newly forming party.

Taking the floor at the meeting, which was attended by numerous party members, Aydar expressed that he does not engage in politics for offices, positions, or pins, and that what is essential is loyalty to principles. Reminding that he began his political journey at a young age, Aydar explained that he served in both the youth branches and as district chairman, and was elected Mayor of Ceyhan in the 2019 and 2024 local elections.

In his speech, Aydar explained the reasoning behind his decision with the words, “For me, politics is standing tall behind the values you believe in. I am making this decision because I believe Turkey is in need of a politics that generates hope once again.”

Emphasizing that he maintains his commitment to the Republic and the principles of Atatürk following his departure from the CHP, Aydar reiterated his loyalty to his principles by saying, “Atatürk's ideas are not the monopoly of any political party. What we are leaving today is not the effort we put in together. What we are leaving today is not Atatürk's legacy. Neither the Republic, nor democracy, nor social justice is the property of any political sign.”

Reminding that he did not consider his position during the decision-making process, the mayor also included the statement, “I am already the mayor of Ceyhan. I am making this decision because I believe Turkey is in need of a politics that generates hope once again,” in his remarks at the meeting.

Aydar further stated, “Pins may change, buildings may change, the names of parties may change, but loyalty to Atatürk does not change, the love for the Republic does not change, and the understanding of service to the nation does not change. I have only one pin that does not change. That is our crescent and star flag that I carry in my heart. My only compass that does not change is the path of the modern, democratic, and secular Republic shown by Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.”

At the end of the meeting, a symbolic moment took place. Aydar returned his CHP pin to Gürsel İlçi, who had attached his first pin in politics, and then received the new party's pin from Hıdır Bayrak, one of the party's oldest members.
