Figures who have served and are currently serving in unions have issued a statement of support for the YENİ Party, calling on laborers and democratic forces.
Following the legal process and expulsion decisions within the CHP, unionists have joined the chorus of support for the YENİ Party, which was founded under the leadership of Özgür Özel. Numerous individuals who have served or are currently serving in unions announced their support for the YENİ Party in a joint statement.
The statement emphasized that the labor movement and the struggle for democracy and freedom cannot be considered separately. The unionists stated their belief that the YENİ Party would be the political counterpart to this struggle.
The joint text expressed that Turkey can stand back up on the principles of a democratic, secular, and social state of law, based on an understanding that prioritizes labor, justice, equality, freedom, and a humane life.
The statement of support was signed by individuals who have served as general presidents, branch presidents, board members, and in various other capacities across different unions.
