CHP's Özgür Özel meets with the business world in İzmir: They are not giving up on CHP
CHP Chairman Özgür Özel met with the business community in İzmir. In his speech, Özel criticized the government's rhetoric of "No votes, no services."
CHP Chairman Özgür Özel met with the business world at the İzmir Chamber of Commerce, alongside representatives from İZTO, EBSO, and the Commodity Exchange.
THEY APPEARED IN THE SAME PHOTOGRAPH FOR THE FIRST TIME
Özel was accompanied on his visit by CHP Deputy Chairman and İzmir MP Murat Bakan, CHP Spokesperson and İzmir MP Deniz Yücel, CHP İzmir Provincial Chairman Şenol Aslanoğlu, CHP İzmir Metropolitan Mayor Tunç Soyer, CHP İzmir Metropolitan Mayoral candidate Dr. Cemil Tugay, and party members.
Soyer, who was not nominated for a second term, appeared in the same photograph for the first time with CHP's metropolitan mayoral candidate Cemil Tugay and CHP Chairman Özgür Özel.
Criticizing the government's "No votes, no services" rhetoric, Özel stated:
“İzmir, which hosted Atatürk's mother, never gives up on the CHP because it knows what a one-man rule is, what the separation of powers is, and who founded the Republic. The issue is that simple and clear. They will not be able to take over Hatay, and İzmir has never surrendered anyway. They say, ‘If you don't vote, it won't happen.’ They are trying to hold İzmir back by saying, ‘İzmir is not one of us.’”
"İZMİR IS ENTRUSTED TO OUR MEN WHO RESPECT WOMEN'S RIGHTS"
“On the day I was elected chairman of the CHP, I stated that we could engage in regional cooperation. As the CHP, we have had no inclination other than to be part of a Turkey alliance and an İzmir alliance against the People's Alliance. The process depends on our unity at the ballot box. Communication will be stronger after April 1. We have a wonderful shadow cabinet and MYK. As the last chairman of this party from beautiful, contemporary, secular, and Atatürkist İzmir, I promise that we will give much more importance to women and young people. We are taking the first step of change and transformation in İzmir. Today, the CHP has nominated nine women, all in electable positions.
The CHP has the courage to nominate women candidates for İzmir's three largest metropolitan districts; our entire İzmir is entrusted to our men who respect women's rights.”
"I WILL CONTINUE TO WORK UNTIL MY LAST BREATH"
İzmir Metropolitan Mayor Tunç Soyer said, “I will continue to work until my last breath to carry this glorious legacy forward in İzmir, the fortress of democracy, and to spread it throughout the country.”
Following Soyer, CHP candidate Cemil Tugay stated, “We are people who are part of İzmir; there is an İzmir that we are trying to protect, take ownership of, and develop.”
