Conditional support message from CHP to YENİ Party: 'In Parliament, those that are in the country's interest...'

While the political tension between the CHP and the YENİ Party, which Özgür Özel and 90 accompanying deputies joined, continues, a message of limited cooperation in parliamentary activities has been delivered.

According to the pro-government newspaper Türkiye Gazetesi, CHP headquarters officials stated that the split within the party should not be carried over into legislative activities in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM). The officials expressed that a constructive stance would be taken, particularly on motions and legislative proposals concerning the public interest.

Following the resignation of Özgür Özel and 90 accompanying deputies from the CHP to join the YENİ Party, harsh mutual statements had come to the fore between the two parties. Despite this, the latest assessment from the CHP front indicated that cooperation would be kept limited solely to the parliamentary floor.

CHP sources made the following assessment:

"There is no problem on our end. We will provide the necessary support to the YENİ Party on motions or legislative proposals in Parliament that are in the country's interest. We have only one rival, and that is the People's Alliance (Cumhur İttifakı)."

CHP sources, stating that parliamentary work should be kept separate from daily political debates, emphasized that they would not support every regulation coming from the YENİ Party, but rather only those proposals evaluated as carrying public interest.
