Confession from the figure who switched from CHP to AKP in Üsküdar! The behind-the-scenes of the transfer revealed

Tahsin Usta, one of the municipal council members who switched from the CHP to the AKP at the Üsküdar Municipality, made statements regarding his party change. Usta said that he was offered a deputy mayoral position by the AKP; he denied allegations that his switch was in exchange for financial gain.

According to the interview reported by Sözcü columnist İsmail Saymaz, Usta stated that he had been involved in politics along the SHP-CHP line for approximately 30 years, was elected as a member of the Üsküdar Municipal Council in the last local elections, and had served as a deputy mayor in the municipality. Usta stated that his resignation was requested about eight months later.

To Saymaz's question, "Did the AK Party promise you a position?", Usta replied, "They said there were areas where I had been successful before, and that they could make use of them." When asked what those were, he said, "Deputy mayor." Usta said he accepted the deputy mayoral offer in order to "be able to serve."

"IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH MONEY"

Arguing that his decision to change parties was not based on any financial motive, Usta used the expression, "It has nothing to do with money." Claiming that council members could not take enough initiative in the municipal administration, Usta stated that he accepted the new job offer in order to "be able to serve."

Regarding the question of which areas he might take on duties in, Usta said he could contribute to topics such as the disabled, work related to animals, social services, veterinary services, and zoning affairs if needed. Usta also reminded that he is a financial advisor.

Upon Saymaz's question regarding the process concerning Üsküdar Mayor Sinem Dedetaş, Usta stated that he did not support the allegations of financial gain against Dedetaş. Usta made the assessment, "I cannot attribute anything like that to her regarding financial gain. I have had no conviction that she would be involved in such a thing."
