The Republican Patriots Party (CVP) announced that its Chairman, Serkan Öz, was detained by Counter-Terrorism (TEM) Branch units in Ankara.
In an announcement made from the party's official social media account, it was stated that TEM units went to a business owned by Öz's family in Ankara, where a search and seizure order was executed, and that Öz was taken to the police station.
The statement claimed that Öz was detained on the grounds of having "contact with Erlik." The CVP demanded that the legal grounds for the detention and the basis for the search and seizure order be disclosed to the public.

In the party's statement, it was asked, "Since when is who a person knows or meets with considered evidence of a crime? Under what legal understanding and for what reason are you detaining the chairman of a political party?"
In its statement, the CVP reacted to the detention, assessing that "The law cannot be used as a cover for arbitrary practices, and security forces cannot be turned into tools for political intimidation."
The party called for the immediate release of Serkan Öz, stating, "You cannot make the Republican Patriots Party bow down. We are here, and we will not give up our struggle."
