Early election call after YENİ Party: A notable date proposal from Şamil Tayyar

A new era has begun in the political arena with Özgür Özel's official establishment of the YENİ Party. While assessments have been coming in one after another following the party's founding, former AK Party MP Şamil Tayyar has brought early election debates back to the agenda with a statement on his social media account.

HE SAID "I HAVE A PROPOSAL"

Drawing attention to recent developments in politics, Şamil Tayyar stated that the activity and tension between parties have increased.

Sharing on his social media account, Tayyar used the following expressions:

"The heat of politics has risen recently. Divisions, transfers, and events are rampant. I have a proposal that I think would provide an opportunity to lower the tension and allow all parties to focus on their own agendas and continue their election preparations."

"ELECTION DATE CAN BE DETERMINED NOW"

Continuing his statement, Tayyar expressed that the election date could be determined without waiting, reminding that a similar practice had been implemented in the past.

In his post, Tayyar made the following assessment:

"Right now, without waiting. The election date can be determined. The election date of April 18, 1999, was determined 9 months in advance; it can be planned early now as well."

"IF CONSENSUS IS REACHED, POLITICS WILL RELAX"

Arguing that it would be beneficial for the early election date to be determined by consensus among political parties, Tayyar stated that this could soften the political atmosphere.

Tayyar concluded his statement with these words:

"I think that if the election date is determined now by consensus, politics will relax. In my opinion, it should be tried."

HE HAD PREVIOUSLY BROUGHT EARLY ELECTION DEBATES TO THE AGENDA

In his previous statements, Şamil Tayyar had also made assessments regarding early election debates and had expressed that clarifying the election calendar in advance could contribute to the political agenda.
