A new poll conducted by ASAL Research has revealed how much support opposition party candidates receive against President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in the upcoming presidential elections.
The poll measured the vote shares of the two prominent opposition figures, Mansur Yavaş and Ekrem İmamoğlu, in the event that Erdoğan runs for office once again.
Participants were also asked about the potential presidential candidate for the CHP.
In the survey, participants were asked, "If the candidates in the upcoming presidential election were as follows, who would you vote for?" In response to this question, the options "Erdoğan-Yavaş" and "Erdoğan-İmamoğlu" were presented.
According to the results, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan received 40.1 percent against Mansur Yavaş, while Yavaş came out ahead with 44.4 percent.
On the other hand, Ekrem İmamoğlu's standing against Erdoğan resulted in a closer margin. While İmamoğlu received 39.7 percent against Erdoğan, Erdoğan came out ahead with a rate of 42.5 percent.
WHO SHOULD BE THE CHP'S PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE?
In another part of the survey, the question "Who would you like to see as the CHP's presidential candidate in the upcoming elections?" was asked. While 31.7 percent of participants preferred Mansur Yavaş, 24.4 percent stated that they wanted to see Ekrem İmamoğlu as the candidate.
Özgür Özel's name was reflected in the poll results at a lower rate. With a 4 percent vote share, Özel remained quite far behind in terms of being the CHP's presidential candidate. Additionally, 8.1 percent of participants answered "None," while a 25.5 percent segment did not make a choice on this matter, saying "No opinion/no answer."
