The İYİ Party has taken to the judiciary the statements claiming that Abdullah Öcalan has been moved to a new area in İmralı Prison allegedly prepared for him.
The party has filed criminal complaints regarding the matter with the Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices in Ankara and Trabzon.
İYİ Party Deputy Chairman Hakan Şeref Olgun stated in a press release in front of the Trabzon Courthouse that the claims in question have caused public discomfort.
Reminding that Öcalan is sentenced to life imprisonment in solitary confinement, Olgun argued that the conditions of execution of the sentence are determined by law and that the administration cannot change these conditions arbitrarily.
Stating that the application was made upon the instruction of İYİ Party Chairman Müsavat Dervişoğlu, Olgun expressed that they have filed complaints against the public officials responsible for the allegations.
We have filed complaints against all public officials who permitted this, built this building, authorized the transfer of this prisoner there, gave the orders, implemented them, and those who were tasked with supervising these officers but failed to do so.
Olgun said that the criminal complaints were filed in Ankara and that a petition was also submitted to the Trabzon Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
Calling on the Minister of Justice, Olgun demanded that the situation subject to the allegations be corrected and that a statement be made to the public.
