Kılıçdaroğlu sets notable candidacy condition for İmamoğlu and Yavaş

Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who was brought to the CHP Chairmanship by a court decision, made assessments regarding the candidacy strategy the opposition should follow in the upcoming elections in an interview conducted as part of a book prepared on the "absolute nullity" process.

According to the Türkiye newspaper, known for its proximity to the government, Kılıçdaroğlu pointed out that the 50+1 rule is decisive in general elections. Stating that it is important for the opposition to reach a consensus on a single candidate, Kılıçdaroğlu expressed that if this cannot be achieved, different candidates could compete in the first round, and a path toward unification should be taken in the second round.

According to the report, Kılıçdaroğlu said that the imprisoned Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, whom he previously described as "not a political prisoner," could also be among the potential candidates for the alliance table. It was reported that Kılıçdaroğlu listed the conditions for İmamoğlu as winning the cases for which he is being tried and the diploma case, and choosing to remain in the CHP.

For Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş, the emphasis on party membership also came to the fore in a similar manner. It was reported that Kılıçdaroğlu said that if Yavaş continues to remain in the CHP, he could be evaluated among the names that could be proposed as a candidate in alliance negotiations.
