Manisa Metropolitan Mayor Besim Dutlulu responded on his social media account to reports in the press suggesting he would join the AKP. Dutlulu denied the claims, stating that he had not held any meetings with AKP figures.
In his statement, Dutlulu said, "I have not met with the Minister of Environment and Urbanization, Mr. Murat Kurum, nor with Mr. Hamza Dağ, nor with Mr. Mücahit Arınç. I am watching the news appearing in the press with astonishment. The reports have no basis in truth."
Emphasizing that he is continuing his party work, Dutlulu noted that he was at the Kula YENİ Party District Presidency on Tuesday and at the Demirci YENİ Party District Presidency today. Noting that these visits were shared on his social media account, Dutlulu said, "I will be at the YENI Party Provincial Congress on Sunday; of course, I am continuing with our party."
