President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan pinned party badges on new members who joined the AKP at his party's 8th Ordinary Grand Congress held at the Ankara Indoor Sports Hall.

Konya Deputy Ünal Karaman, who joined the AKP after resigning from the İYİ Party, attended the congress with his son, İlteriş Sançar. Erdoğan officially welcomed Karaman into the ranks of the AKP by pinning the party badge on him.

NOTABLE NAMES IN THE AKP MKYK

Notable names were included in the AKP's new Central Decision and Administrative Board (MKYK). In addition to Kürşad Zorlu, Dursun Ataş, İdris Nebi Hatipoğlu, and Seyithan İzsiz, who resigned from the İYİ Party, Mustafa Nedim Yamalı and Serap Yazıcı Özbudun, who left the Future Party (Gelecek Partisi), were also among the AKP MKYK members.

Former Beyoğlu Mayor Haydar Ali Yıldız and former Üsküdar Mayor Hilmi Türkmen were also included in the party's management staff.
