One party will not be able to participate in the local elections! A noteworthy detail regarding primary elections
It has been reported that the Innovation Party (Yenilik Partisi) will not participate in the Local Administration General Elections to be held on March 31. Accordingly, the number of parties participating in the local elections has dropped to 35.
The Innovation Party has notified the Supreme Election Council (YSK) that it will not participate in the Local Administration General Elections to be held on March 31, 2024. Thus, the number of parties participating in the election has decreased from 36 to 35.

On the other hand, according to the election calendar, January 10, 2024, was the final day for political parties to notify the YSK of the electoral districts in which they would determine candidates for the Local Administration General Elections, and the procedures and principles they would follow. All parties that notified the YSK of their participation in the election stated that they would determine their candidates without conducting a central poll (without holding primary elections).
