Özdağ reacts to Altun: 'You are spreading disinformation: 11 billion dollars a year...'

Meeting with tradespeople and citizens at the Çarşamba Market in Ankara's Sincan district, Victory Party (Zafer Partisi) Chairman Ümit Özdağ claimed that the Communications Directorate is misinforming citizens regarding the rights of Syrians.

Chatting with citizens at the marketplace, Özdağ responded to questions directed at him. Making assessments regarding the state of the economy, the Victory Party Chairman emphasized that Syrians 'create a heavy burden' on the Turkish economy.

A citizen who stated that Syrians are given priority over Turks in hospitals said, 'I was going to have my wife's tooth extracted on Friday, but they said, "there is no appointment for you." A Syrian went on Friday and had his tooth extracted. My wife waited until Monday with her tooth aching.'

Following these remarks, Özdağ reacted to Fahrettin Altun, stating the following:

"Look Fahrettin, you say from the Disinformation Center that 'Ümit Özdağ is not telling the truth, Syrians do not have priority rights,' you are spreading disinformation, look at how your lies are being exposed. Syrians have the right to be treated in hospitals before Turks, my brother, do not lie to this nation."

When asked by another citizen how the economy would improve, Özdağ noted the following:

'First, we will start with savings from the state. In the past, when a retiree retired, they would receive 70 percent of their last salary; now they receive 40 percent. We will return to the old system and the retiree will again receive 70 percent, and will receive 100 percent of the welfare share. The state will not transfer money to Syrians, but will transfer it to its retirees and workers. We are transferring 11 billion dollars a year to Syrians.'
