Özgür Özel: The true founding of the New Party will be completed with the people in Anatolia and Thrace
New Party Chairman Özgür Özel stated that the new political formation was shaped by demands from the public and that the organization process will continue.
New Party Chairman Özgür Özel made evaluations regarding his party's founding process. Stating that the new formation emerged upon demands from the public, Özel said, “The nation pushed us into the New Party process. The technical founding is complete; the true political founding will take place together with the nation across Anatolia and Thrace over the next two months.”
Speaking to Sözcü columnist Saygı Öztürk, Özel said that he has visited numerous provinces in the last two months and observed intense expectations from citizens for the establishment of a new political movement. Expressing that the technical founding phase of the party is complete, Özel noted that they will focus on provincial and district organization in the coming period.
Özel also voiced criticisms regarding the current management of the CHP. Arguing that the party is “managed by an unelected administration,” Özel said that they are not targeting the corporate identity of the CHP but will not enter into political polemics with the current management.
Stating that the New Party's organizational efforts are continuing in different regions of Turkey, Özel conveyed that they have seen intense interest, especially from young people. Özel also expressed that the new party is receiving support from different political segments.
Stating that they have prioritized new names in the formation of the party management, Özel said that some individuals who served in the past did not take part in the management by their own choice, but continue to support the party as founders. Özel indicated that a more comprehensive restructuring will take place with a party congress to be held in the coming months.
