The path to be followed by the elected figures expelled by the null administration in the CHP will depend on the Court of Cassation ruling, to which all eyes are turned. Following the expulsion of 48 people who were part of the party's elected leadership, it is stated that these individuals are continuing to wait for a decision regarding the congress lawsuit.
YENİ Party Group Deputy Chairman Murat Emir had called on the Court of Cassation following the expulsion decisions, requesting that the congress lawsuit be addressed. Stating that if the Court of Cassation annuls the nullity decision, the expulsions should also be considered void, Emir said, "If there is a shred of law left, the Court of Cassation must both lift the injunction and disregard this illegitimate decision."
DECISION EXPECTED BEFORE THE CONGRESS
According to a report by Cumhuriyet, it is stated that the elected staff of the CHP will wait for a decision from the Court of Cassation until the YENİ Party's congress, which will be held on November 14-15. If no decision is reached during this process, it is expected that the expelled individuals will become members of the YENİ Party.
In YENİ Party circles, it is also being assessed that a decision could come from the Court of Cassation before the congress. It is stated that if no decision is reached, the elected officials expelled from the CHP will join the YENİ Party, and that giving these individuals roles at the congress and including them in the Party Assembly lists is on the agenda.
WHAT HAD ÖZGÜR ÖZEL SAID?
On the other hand, it is reported that even if a positive decision comes from the Court of Cassation, the YENİ Party leadership is not expected to return to the CHP. It is recalled that YENİ Party leader Özgür Özel gave the message "We are not going to run while looking backward" in programs he previously attended.
If the Court of Cassation lifts the injunction, it is being discussed that cooperation could be established between the new administration that would form in the CHP and the YENİ Party, particularly regarding ballot box security and election processes. Özel had previously stated that if a "friendly administration" were to form in the CHP, a basis for joint work on these topics could emerge.
