Following the "absolute nullity" ruling regarding the CHP convention and Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu being declared chairman by court order, the NEW Party, established under the leadership of Özgür Özel, was announced today.

The arithmetic of the Parliament has changed with 91 out of the 135 existing deputies joining the NEW Party. With this development, the NEW Party has risen to the position of main opposition in the TBMM, while the CHP has become the fifth-largest party in Parliament with 44 deputies.
