With only a few days left until the local elections, the campaigns of political parties and mayoral candidates continue.
Candidates are placing as much importance on social media as they are on rallies. In this regard, they are publishing advertisements by spending on various platforms, primarily Facebook and Instagram.
According to a report by 10 Haber, media and communications expert Okan Yüksel analyzed the corporate advertising expenditures of political parties over the last 30 days using Meta data.
CHP TOPS SOCIAL MEDIA ADVERTISING SPENDING
The CHP is far ahead in advertisements placed on Facebook and Instagram. The candidate who spent the most money is the AKP's Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) candidate, Murat Kurum.
The Facebook and Instagram advertising expenditures of the political parties are as follows:
- CHP: 15,010,158 TL
- AKP: 2,134,214 TL
- DEVA Party: 1,127,539 TL
- Independent Turkey Party (BTP): 1,080,258 TL
- Saadet Party: 442,905 TL
KURUM SPENT 3 TIMES MORE THAN İMAMOĞLU
In the ranking among candidates, it was revealed that Murat Kurum spent more than 3 times as much money on advertising as Ekrem İmamoğlu.
