Journalist İsmail Arı shares threatening messages! 'I've put my men on your tail in Ankara'
The threats against journalist İsmail Arı show no signs of stopping. The latest messages sent to Arı included the phrase, 'I've put my men on your tail in Ankara,' and also contained disturbing threats of sexual assault against his wife.
BirGün newspaper reporter İsmail Arı has been targeted with threatening messages sent to his mobile phone.
Last May, Arı, who wrote a report titled 'Bribery in the Judiciary' regarding Gökhan Göz, who is alleged to have ties to the Şahinler gang, announced that he had been threatened following the report. Sharing these messages with the public by stating, 'They accessed my relatives' personal data and sent it to me,' the journalist had called on officials from the General Directorate of Security and the Ministry of Interior.
In a new social media post yesterday, Arı stated that despite his previous criminal complaint, there had been no response, and he published the new threatening messages directed at him.
Highlighting the extent of the threats in the messages, Arı said:
'They previously threatened my 80-something-year-old grandmother and my aunt, saying, "We will wipe out your entire family." I went to the police and filed a complaint, but no one called or followed up. The gang I am facing continues their threats. They have put men on my tail. I am sharing the messages exactly as they are. If anything happens to me, the responsibility lies with the police and Ministry of Interior officials who do not touch this gang.'
It was observed that the latest threatening messages directed at the journalist included the statement, 'I've put my men on your tail in Ankara,' as well as expressions containing threats of sexual assault against his wife.

On the other hand, it is known that no legal action has been taken yet regarding the first complaint Arı filed in May.
