Interior Minister Mustafa Çiftçi made statements regarding the new police recruitment within the General Directorate of Security. Responding to questions during a TV100 broadcast, Çiftçi stated that at least 10 thousand police officers will be recruited in the new term.

Çiftçi stated that the 12/36 work system has been adopted at the General Directorate of Security, but that this model cannot be applied in some units. Minister Çiftçi expressed that the 12/36 system cannot be implemented in areas such as narcotics, counter-terrorism, and cybercrimes.
Responding to a question regarding the calendar for the new term police recruitment, Çiftçi said, "Whenever we open recruitment, we generally recruit around 10 thousand to 12 thousand police officers on average. Among these, we have mostly male police officers, but we also have female police officers. We will evaluate the issue of increasing the number of female police recruits."
