Elon Musk's Neuralink project has reached a significant milestone. The first patient to receive a brain chip has begun using a computer mouse using only the power of thought. Elon Musk announced that the patient's health is good.
Following the announcement a month ago regarding the successful implantation of the Neuralink chip into a human brain, a new development has now occurred. Elon Musk made new statements on the subject during a Space session held on the X platform. Musk stated that the patient has fully recovered over the one-month period and is able to control a computer mouse with the power of thought. This development can be considered an important turning point for the Neuralink project.
According to Elon Musk's statement, "Progress is good and the patient appears to have made a full recovery, with no ill effects that we are aware of. The patient is able to move a mouse around the screen by just thinking."
The first patient to receive the chip was an individual lacking mobility. The goal of the Neuralink team was to enable this patient to use a computer mouse or keyboard with the power of thought. At the point we have reached now, it is seen that this goal is one step closer. However, more time will be needed to see whether the treatment process will achieve 100 percent success.
