The Koç Group has announced that it will provide 1 million euros in support to the Women's National Volleyball Team. The announcement was made at a special event in Istanbul attended by national team players, the technical staff, and the management of the Turkish Volleyball Federation.
Hosted by Koç Holding Honorary Chairman Rahmi Koç and Koç Holding Chairman of the Board Ömer Koç, the meeting celebrated the recent successes of the Sultans of the Net and the rise of Turkish women's volleyball.
Turkish Volleyball Federation President Mehmet Akif Üstündağ announced during the evening that the Koç Group would provide 1 million euros in support to the national team. Üstündağ highlighted the importance of long-term support for the sustainability of success in Turkish women's volleyball.
"Our National Team makes us all proud, not only with the trophies they have won but also with the struggle they have put forth for years and the inspiration they have given to young people. We find the support of our stakeholders, who believe in Turkish volleyball and have been by our side for many years, to be extremely valuable for these successes to be sustainable."
Üstündağ stated that Koç Group companies have been among the supporters of volleyball and the national team for years, expressing their satisfaction with the contribution to be provided.
CONGRATULATIONS TO THE NATIONAL TEAM FROM ÖMER KOÇ
In his speech, Koç Holding Chairman of the Board Ömer Koç emphasized the inspiration the Women's National Volleyball Team provides to young people, and especially to girls, in addition to their sporting achievements. Koç congratulated the national athletes on their success.
"Most importantly, you have been an example and an inspiration to young people and girls. In this respect, I find it very meaningful that you are referred to as Atatürk's daughters. You are the brave Turkish women who will keep the secular Republic and its values alive. I congratulate you all with all my heart."
Ömer Koç stated that the Koç Group has been supporting sports for many years and said they are honored to stand by the national team with OPET and Arçelik.
Women's National Volleyball Team Captain Eda Erdem Dündar expressed that every success achieved with the national jersey is a great source of pride. Erdem emphasized that these successes are not limited to the players on the court; they are made possible by the contributions of the federation, technical staff, families, fans, and sponsors.
Eda Erdem thanked the Koç Group, as well as OPET and Arçelik, for their support of Turkish volleyball. The national team captain stated that it is one of their greatest joys that the successes achieved inspire children and young girls.
The event concluded with a commemorative photo taken by Rahmi Koç and Ömer Koç with the national team players, technical staff, and guests.
