Ahmet Çakar: I learned of a disgrace that took place at the VIP gate
Football commentator and former referee Ahmet Çakar reported on an incident that occurred at the VIP gate before the Galatasaray-Beşiktaş derby and expressed his reaction.
While the Galatasaray-Beşiktaş derby ended in a 2-1 victory for Galatasaray, Ahmet Çakar took to his social media account to share a tension that occurred before the match.
Çakar made the following statement:
Before the match, I learned from my reporter colleagues about a disgrace that took place at the VIP gate. The assistant of Dinçer Azaphan—a friend to us all, a helpful person, and most importantly, someone who has provided various sponsorships to Galatasaray and is a luxury box owner—was not allowed into the stadium, and was met with abusive language. Stadium manager Mr. Mesut, who do you think you are? Who gives you the authority to treat people this way and use profanity? Is Rams Park your private farm?
