The statement noted that the average number of spectators per match in the two leagues reached 34 thousand 974, which is the highest level in the history of German professional football.
Ticket sales in the Bundesliga increased by 9.1 percent compared to the previous season, rising to 12 million 718 thousand 97. The average attendance per match in the top flight also rose from 38 thousand 82 to 41 thousand 562.
It was emphasized that the promotion of Köln and Hamburg to the Bundesliga last season played an important role in this increase. In Bundesliga 2, total ticket sales decreased from 9 million 330 thousand 725 to 8 million 686 thousand 161.
