Benfica responds to Fenerbahçe rumors regarding Pavlidis: We are not thinking of selling
A clear statement has come from Benfica regarding Vangelis Pavlidis, who has been linked to Fenerbahçe's striker search.
Benfica has issued a statement regarding Vangelis Pavlidis, who has been reported as a target for Fenerbahçe as they continue efforts to strengthen their forward line.
According to a report by HT Spor, Benfica Sporting Director Mario Branco stated that they have not received any official offer from the yellow-navy club. Branco noted that the Greek center-forward is part of their plans for the new season and expressed that they have no intention of selling the player.
''This player is in our plans for the new season; we are even playing him in the UEFA Europa League qualifiers. Frankly, we are not thinking of selling him. Perhaps Fenerbahçe is in contact with the player's agent, but we have no knowledge of this matter.''
The 27-year-old Pavlidis recorded 30 goals and 6 assists in 53 matches for Benfica last season. The Greek footballer has also started the new season quickly, finding the net 4 times in the 2 matches he has played.
Pavlidis, whose contract with Benfica runs until June 30, 2029, has a market value of 28 million euros according to Transfermarkt data.
