Beşiktaş applies to TFF for 2 matches
Beşiktaş has applied to the TFF to play its Süper Lig matches against Adana Demirspor and Hatayspor on Mondays.
Beşiktaş has taken action ahead of the busy match schedule that will begin following the international break.
Mete Vardar, vice president of the Black-and-White club, stated during a broadcast on Ekol TV that they wish to play their match against Hatayspor in the 8th week of the Süper Lig and their match against Adana Demirspor in the 16th week on Mondays.
Vardar stated that they have communicated this decision to the Turkish Football Federation both in writing and verbally.
In his statement, Mete Vardar said, "We are building a deep squad while planning our roster. Our young players coming from our own youth academy will make a huge contribution to Beşiktaş. They will also provide economic contributions in the near and medium term. We have young players on the list we submitted to UEFA. The initial league fixture was drawn. There were no changes there. The European matches were determined later."
Vardar continued his remarks as follows:
"Our coach, Giovanni van Bronckhorst, conveyed his requests to us. We have discussed face-to-face with the federation that we want to play the Adana Demirspor and Hatayspor matches on Mondays. We have conveyed our thoughts regarding these 2 matches both in writing and verbally. Hopefully, those matches will be played on Monday. If they are on Monday, it will be more comfortable given the European matches on Thursdays."
