Commission crisis in Beşiktaş's Salah transfer sparks debate in Egypt

The suspension of Beşiktaş's negotiations for the transfer of Mohamed Salah due to financial terms has become a hot topic in the Egyptian star's home country. It was previously stated that the Black and White club decided not to exceed the limits set regarding the commission demands of Salah's agent, Ramy Abbas.

Beşiktaş Football Director Önder Özen stated in a previous announcement that the file had been "shelved for now," expressing that the club was protecting its financial and institutional principles rather than taking a populist step in the transfer.

The future of Salah and the negotiations held with Beşiktaş were also discussed on the Egyptian broadcaster ON Sport. During the program, journalist Mohamed Almahmoudy reported that Beşiktaş manager Vincenzo Italiano had spoken directly with Salah.

According to the information provided by Almahmoudy, Italiano explained his project at Beşiktaş and the star player's potential role within the team. It was noted that the Italian manager told him the Black and White club is going through a transition process and that Salah could be one of the leading figures of this era.

Speaking on the program, Egyptian coach Talaat Youssef directed criticism at Salah and his agent Ramy Abbas for their stance during the transfer process. Youssef stated that he did not find it right for Salah to give his agent broad authority in the negotiations.

''Ramy is responsible, and Salah has given him full authority for the negotiations. However, I 100 percent believe that the player should also assert his influence. Ramy is his agent and of course has a role, but Salah also needs to be involved in the process.''

Youssef also argued that Salah has options in Saudi Arabia, the USA, and Beşiktaş, stating that he believes the Black and Whites would be the most suitable choice under the current circumstances.

On the Beşiktaş side, the decision is rooted in an uncompromising stance regarding agent commissions. Önder Özen had stated that President Serdal Adalı walked away from the table while keeping the club's principles in mind.

''Not deviating from the club's core is much more important than having a valuable athlete. Ultimately, the Mohamed Salah file is shelved for us for now.''

With the Black and Whites walking away from the table, the transfer process has come to a halt for the time being.
