Condemnation from Fenerbahçe
The yellow-navy club has issued a statement condemning the incidents that occurred during the match between Yüksekova Spor Kulübü and Fenerbahçe in the 24th week of the Turkcell Women's Football Super League.
In a statement regarding the matter, Fenerbahçe said, "The incidents that took place during the match played by our Fenerbahçe Women's Football Team against Yüksekova Spor Kulübü at the Şemdinli District Stadium are unacceptable to our club.
The foreign object that struck our Head Coach, Mr. Gökhan Bozkaya, during the match and the attack carried out against the FB TV broadcast team are incompatible with the spirit of sports. It is extremely saddening for Turkish football that such incidents occur at a time when great efforts are being made for the development of women's football.
As Fenerbahçe Sports Club, we once again emphasize that we are against all forms of violence and condemn these events in the strongest possible terms. We congratulate our team for continuing their struggle despite all the negativity and leaving the field with a victory.
We express our expectation that the necessary investigations into the incidents will be conducted and that the necessary actions will be taken against those responsible immediately.
Our club will take all necessary legal steps with determination during this process and will follow the matter until the end," the statement read.
