Critical threshold in Dominik Livakovic's transfer at Fenerbahçe
It has emerged that Olympiakos is interested in Fenerbahçe's experienced goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic. The Croatian goalkeeper's potential move to the Greek club will depend on the progression of his current injury.
As the departure of Fenerbahçe's Croatian goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic from the team remains on the agenda, a surprise transfer move is unfolding. Olympiakos, one of Greece's powerhouse clubs, has emerged as a leading suitor for the 31-year-old goalkeeper. Livakovic's situation has raised questions about whether he will part ways with his club.
The player's agent, Andy Bara, also arrived in Istanbul to sit down with Fenerbahçe. The initial part of the discussions focused on the possibility of Livakovic returning to his former club, Dinamo Zagreb. However, no agreement has been reached between the parties yet. The Croatian goalkeeper is undergoing a special treatment process due to health issues that have persisted since the World Cup, and this detail stands as an obstacle to the transfer.
It is reported that the Olympiakos side is prepared to meet both Fenerbahçe's transfer fee expectation of around 5 million Euros and the player's salary demands. If it is determined that the Croatian goalkeeper's injury is not serious, it is anticipated that the transfer could be concluded in a short time. Livakovic is expected to be the primary goalkeeper at his new club.
It was known that the Greek club had been interested in other names in their search for a goalkeeper in the recent past. However, it has been reported that with Livakovic coming to the fore, the priority in the transfer has shifted to the Croatian goalkeeper.
Fenerbahçe had added Livakovic to its squad from Dinamo Zagreb in the 2023 summer transfer window for a fee of 6 million 650 thousand Euros. The 31-year-old goalkeeper completed last season on loan back at Dinamo Zagreb, making 17 appearances during that period. In light of current developments, it is expected that Livakovic's future will be clarified within a few days.
