The relegation of Denizlispor, one of the deep-rooted clubs of Turkish football, has been confirmed. The green-and-black team, which previously competed in the Süper Lig and represented Turkey in European cups, has dropped to the 1st Amateur League due to its decision not to play its matches.
Denizlispor did not show up for the Sarayköyspor match last week. The club also announced that it would not participate in the match against Serinhisarspor scheduled for this week. The decision was registered in accordance with the rule in the football competition instructions regarding not showing up for two consecutive matches.
With this result, it was reported that Denizlispor will compete in the amateur league next season. The point reached by the club, which once drew attention in the Süper Lig with the support of its fans at Atatürk Stadium, has caused sadness within the community and among the fans.
