Dzeko's comments on Szymanski and Icardi: 'Under normal circumstances...'

Fenerbahçe's Bosnian star Edin Dzeko spoke to the Polish press. 

COMMENTS ON SZYMANSKI

Evaluating Szymanski's performance, Dzeko said, "Sebastian started the season wonderfully and I am very happy about that. Especially because he is scoring goals, because I think it is always better to have more players in a team who can score. However, his good start is not a surprise to me at all because he is a good and quality player. We hope he will maintain this form throughout the season and contribute a lot to Fenerbahçe."

ICARDI RESPONSE

Dzeko responded to the question, "Your goal tally is almost the same as Icardi's, and furthermore, both Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray are currently tied on points. Which will be harder: beating Icardi for the top scorer title or beating Galatasaray for the championship?" as follows:

"The most important reason for me joining Fenerbahçe is to bring the championship title back to this club and its fans. This is my absolute priority. And I am doing everything in my power to help make that happen."

'UNDER NORMAL CIRCUMSTANCES, WE WOULD BE 6-7 POINTS AHEAD'

Touching upon the championship race, the goalscorer said, "Under normal circumstances, after a 10-game winning streak, we would probably be 6-7 points ahead of the second-place team. However, the reality in the Turkish league this season is completely different because our rivals are also in very good shape. This means it is a very long championship battle where every match and even every point could be decisive."
