Harsh words from Nihat Kahveci for Fenerbahçe star: 'The trajectory is very bad'

Drawing 1-1 with Gornik Zabrze in the UEFA Champions League second qualifying round second leg, Fenerbahçe advanced to the next round with the advantage of their 1-0 victory in the first leg.

Evaluating the match on the Kontraspor YouTube channel, Nihat Kahveci opened a separate parenthesis for the performance of the yellow-navy team's national footballer, Kerem Aktürkoğlu.

Reminding that Kerem stood out with his scoring contributions in the past, Kahveci stated, "Honestly Kerem, you scored the most stylish goals even when you played your worst. You were heavily criticized at Galatasaray too, but you always had double-digit scoring contributions. You played much better than I expected at Benfica, you represented us very well."

Criticizing his performance during his Fenerbahçe tenure, Kahveci said he saw Kerem among the team's worst in the first half of last season. Stating that there was a short-term morale recovery following the goals scored in European matches, Kahveci argued that the performance graph has since dropped again.

Touching upon the national footballer's recent matches for the A National Team, Kahveci commented, "The trajectory is very bad, and there are already transfer rumors. Even if he were flying, even if he were scoring goals, if the name Leao came up, he would be sitting on the bench. Right now, even without Leao, he would sit on the bench."
