It was reported that Leonardo will serve as an advisor to Maldini in this role.
It was also reported that Giovanni Malago will assume the presidency of the Italian Football Federation.
Maldini previously served as the sporting director at AC Milan, the club where he is a legend, between 2019 and 2023.
