In the 5th week of the Trendyol Süper Lig, Fenerbahçe left their away match against Gaziantep FK with a 0-0 draw. Evaluating the match on the Kontraspor YouTube channel afterward, Nihat Kahveci reacted to the yellow-navy team's performance with harsh words.
Drawing attention to Fenerbahçe's high-cost squad and season goals, Kahveci stated that the two points dropped in Gaziantep made the situation more difficult. Pointing to the missed opportunities and shots hitting the woodwork during the match, the experienced commentator remarked, "You left two points on the pitch."
Criticizing Fenerbahçe's 11th-place position with 7 points after 5 matches in the league, Kahveci also emphasized the disappointment felt by the fans. Kahveci stated, "Today is September 14. Don't Fenerbahçe fans have the right to be happy for even one hour? I am talking about the chaos after the match. May God give you patience, truly."
Reminding that Aziz Yıldırım and İsmail Kartal took responsibility after the Roma match, Nihat Kahveci argued that the point loss in the league is difficult to explain. Kahveci noted that this performance does not align with Fenerbahçe's expectations at the beginning of the season.
Questioning Aziz Yıldırım's season goal as well, Kahveci continued his remarks with these words:
"With what grand goal did President Aziz come this season? You are in 11th place with 7 points! Today is September 14. If Fenerbahçe becomes champion this season, I will give away 100 Fenerbahçe jerseys."
