Surprise move from Acun Ilıcalı: Emre Belözoğlu on Hull City's list

Hull City, a Championship team that suffered significant losses last season, has accelerated its search for a new manager after parting ways with Ruben Selles. The English club, under the ownership of Acun Ilıcalı, has added a familiar name to its list: Emre Belözoğlu.

According to a report by the local English press outlet Hull Daily Mail, Acun Ilıcalı and his team are prioritizing candidates with Championship experience for the new managerial role; however, the inclusion of Emre Belözoğlu, who manages Antalyaspor in the Süper Lig, among the candidates has drawn attention.

Belözoğlu's close relationship with Acun Ilıcalı is cited as an influential factor in his emergence as a contender for the Hull City managerial seat, following a season in which the club narrowly avoided relegation on goal difference.

CONTRACT IS ONGOING

Emre Belözoğlu, who took charge of Antalyaspor in January, signed a 1.5-year contract with the Mediterranean club. The young manager has recorded 6 wins, 4 draws, and 7 losses in 17 matches this season.
