Two-match ban for Tedesco

A disciplinary penalty has been issued to Bologna head coach Domenico Tedesco. The Italian Football Federation's Disciplinary Committee has handed Tedesco, who was shown a red card during stoppage time in the match against Sassuolo, a two-match ban and a 5,000 euro fine.

Bologna had been defeated 1-0 by Lazio and Atalanta in the first two weeks of the league. The team secured its first point of the season in the third week by achieving a 2-2 draw against Sassuolo with a goal scored in the 90+2nd minute.

The 40-year-old manager, who was sent off from the sidelines with a direct red card in the 90+4th minute of the match due to his fierce protests against the referee, will serve his suspension over Bologna's next two league matches.

Due to this decision, Tedesco will not be able to be on the bench for Bologna's away game against Napoli and their home match against Torino. The head coach, who began his Italian career without a win, will be forced to watch his team from the stands during these critical weeks as they look for a turnaround.
