A fight broke out among 21 inmates in a ward for criminal offenders at the Ferizli No. 2 L-Type Closed Penal Institution following a verbal argument.
The 21 inmates involved in the incident were transferred to Ferizli State Hospital to obtain medical reports regarding assault and battery. During the examination, it was determined that an inmate identified as M.A. had an open wound on his head due to a blow, and stitches were applied.
Following initial treatment at the hospital, the inmate identified as M.A. was transferred to Sakarya Training and Research Hospital to complete his treatment. The other 20 inmates were returned to the prison after receiving initial treatment at the district state hospital.
It was also learned that the inmates involved in the incident have been moved to different wards and solitary confinement cells, and there is no further risk of the incident escalating.
