Statement from DEDAŞ regarding the Diyarbakır-Mardin fire

Dicle Elektrik has issued a new statement regarding the fire that broke out in the Köksalan and rural Yazçiçeği neighborhoods of Diyarbakır's Çınar district, as well as the Yücebağ and Yetkinler rural neighborhoods of Mardin's Mazıdağı district.

In the statement released by the company, it was noted that despite their reports that the fires, which resulted in the loss of 11 lives, were not caused by their power lines, misinformation continues to circulate.

'WE OBSERVE THAT MANIPULATIVE STATEMENTS ARE CONTINUING'

The statement, which noted that legal rights would be exercised for this reason, included the following expressions:

Although we have stated that the fire that occurred in Diyarbakır and Mardin was not caused by our electricity distribution lines, we observe that manipulative statements continue to be made by some media outlets and circles positioning themselves as experts in the region. While these statements negatively affect our improvement activities for the region, they have also frequently left our team members working on power lines in difficult situations. 

As a company, we state that we maintain our stance against these baseless claims and declare that we will exercise our legal rights. We wish God's mercy upon our citizens who lost their lives as a result of the fire, offer our condolences to their relatives, and wish a speedy recovery to our injured citizens.
