These roads in Istanbul are closed to traffic: Alternative routes announced
Due to the Yeşilay Bicycle Tour Half Marathon, some roads in Fatih, Beyoğlu, and Beşiktaş will be closed starting from 07:00.
Due to the Yeşilay Bicycle Tour Half Marathon to be held in Istanbul today, temporary traffic arrangements will be made at certain points in the city. Many roads in Fatih, Beyoğlu, and Beşiktaş will be closed to vehicle traffic from 07:00 until the end of the event.
The organization, which will be carried out by the Turkish Green Crescent Society (Türkiye Yeşilay Cemiyeti), is expected to cause traffic congestion, particularly along the coastal line, the historic peninsula, and the Taksim-Beşiktaş connection. The Istanbul Governor's Office has advised drivers to take note of the closed roads and alternative routes before setting out.
ROADS TO BE CLOSED AND ALTERNATIVE ROUTES
In Fatih, the section of Sahil Kennedy Street between the Çatladıkapı and Sirkeci traffic lights will be closed to vehicle passage. Traffic flow will also be halted on the Galata Bridge and on Reşadiye, Ragıp Gümüşpala, Abdülezel Paşa, Mürselpaşa, and Kadir Has streets. In this area, Unkapanı Bridge, Atatürk Boulevard, Millet Street, and Gazi Mustafa Kemal Paşa Street have been designated as alternatives for drivers.
In Beyoğlu, Meclisi Mebusan, Kemeraltı, Tershane, Necatibey, and Bedri Karafakioğlu streets, as well as Mebusan Slope and İnebolu Street, will be closed. The section of İnönü Street between the Machinery and Chemical Industry (MKE) Building and Şehitler Tepesi, the section of Boğazkesen Street between Defterdar Yokuşu Street and Meclisi Mebusan Street, and the Eminönü direction of the Galata Bridge will also be closed to traffic as part of the implementation.
In Beyoğlu, it is recommended that transportation be provided via Dereboyu, Asker Ocağı, İnönü, Evliya Çelebi, Refik Saydam, Boğazkesen, and Mete streets, as well as Tarlabaşı Boulevard.
In Beşiktaş, the route between Dolmabahçe and Beşiktaş streets, the turns on Kadırgalar Street at the Dolmabahçe Tunnel exit, and Dolmabahçe Square will be closed to vehicle traffic. At this point, Barbaros Boulevard, as well as Çırağan and Kadırgalar streets, can be used as alternative routes.
