'Turkey and Libya will merge': A critical statement from Celal Şengör...
Geologist Prof. Dr. Celal Şengör made an important assessment regarding continental movements. Şengör said, "For example, in 10 million years, we will be kissing Libya. Look at the current speed; we are heading toward merging with Libya. The Eastern Mediterranean is slowly closing."
Renowned geologist Prof. Dr. Celal Şengör has presented a striking scenario regarding the future of Turkey.
Speaking in an interview with journalist Fatih Altaylı on the HT Bilim Tarih Felsefe channel, Şengör stated that research shows the formation of a new supercontinent every 600 million years.
Şengör claimed that the world is undergoing changes in this process and that Turkey's position on the map will also change.
"THERE IS NO ESCAPE! IT WILL DEFINITELY HAPPEN"
Suggesting that Europe will 'break apart' with the continental changes to come and that 'Western Europe will become an island,' Şengör said that Asia and America will also most likely collide.
TURKEY WILL BE THE MOST AFFECTED
According to Şengör, Turkey will be the most affected by the New Pangea, which is estimated to form in 10 million years.
Noting that a new mountain belt will form and the Mediterranean will close completely, Şengör stated that these formations are occurring even now.
TURKEY WILL MERGE WITH LIBYA
Celal Şengör said that Turkey and Libya will merge in 10 million years and become land neighbors.
Şengör used the expressions, "For example, in 10 million years, we will be kissing Libya. Look at the current speed; we are heading toward merging with Libya. The Eastern Mediterranean is slowly closing."
