Two stations on the Istanbul metro to be closed
In accordance with a decision taken by the Istanbul Governor's Office, the Taksim and Şişhane stations of the M2 Metro Line and the F1 Taksim-Kabataş Funicular Line will be closed starting from 15:00 today.
The Istanbul Governor's Office has decided to close certain metro stations and the Taksim-Kabataş Funicular stops due to the march in support of Gaza that the CHP will hold on Istiklal Avenue today.
According to the announcement by Metro İstanbul, in line with the decision taken by the Istanbul Governor's Office, the Taksim and Şişhane stations on the M2 Yenikapı-Hacıosman Metro Line and the F1 Taksim-Kabataş Funicular Line will be closed to service as of 15:00 today.
On the other hand, the CHP will hold a march today at 19:00 in support of Palestine.
CHP İstanbul Provincial Chair Özgür Çelik, in a statement made on the social media platform X, had issued a call with the words, "Free Palestine from the river to the sea! We are coming together to say no to genocide, massacre, and displacement in Gaza, and we are marching from Tünel to Taksim!"
