According to a statement from the US Central Command (CENTCOM), US and Saudi warplanes targeted logistics centers and weapons depots belonging to the groups in various regions in eastern Iraq.
The PMF's Nineveh Operations Command had previously announced that, according to initial assessments, 8 people had lost their lives and 4 were injured in attacks on their positions in the northern Iraqi province of Nineveh. The toll was updated in a subsequent second statement.
The statement indicated that the attacks covered many provinces, including Baghdad, Wasit, Nineveh, Basra, Kirkuk, Karbala, and Diyala. It was reported that the bombings caused material damage to bases, vehicles, and military equipment.
According to the official Iraqi news agency INA, following the attacks, Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi called the National Security Ministerial Council to an emergency meeting. A detailed statement is expected following the meeting.
