It has been alleged that the administration of US President Donald Trump has informed Gulf countries to be prepared for the possibility of a new military escalation against Iran. Speaking to the American channel MS Now, three officials from Gulf countries claimed that Washington has brought up the date of November 4 for potential attacks.
According to the officials, the US administration warned regional countries that a "short and intense wave of attacks" against Iran could occur at the beginning of November. It was also reportedly conveyed that the attacks could begin one day after the US Congressional midterm elections, which are to be held on November 3.
The report also included an assessment that it is "possible" that Gulf countries would oppose the US launching attacks against Iran from bases located on their own soil.
A White House official, who was not authorized to speak publicly on the matter, stated regarding the allegations: "We do not comment on sensitive military plans that may or may not exist. President Trump keeps all options on the table to ensure that Iran never possesses nuclear weapons."
The Wall Street Journal had also previously reported that the US had warned Gulf countries to be prepared for a military escalation with Iran. No official statement confirming the allegations has been made from Washington.
