Claim of Iran briefing for Trump: CENTCOM allegedly presented possible attack options

It has been claimed that US President Donald Trump was briefed by Central Command (CENTCOM) Commander Brad Cooper regarding possible attack options against Iran.

According to a report by The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) citing unnamed US officials, US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Dan Caine also attended the meeting at the White House.

The report noted that it is a "rare" occurrence for CENTCOM Commander Cooper to provide a direct briefing to Trump. The WSJ included an assessment that this contact "could be a harbinger that Washington is nearing significant military strikes."

US Democratic Senatör Chris Murphy also stated in a post on his social media account that he and a group of senators had been briefed on possible attack plans against Iran. Murphy described the plans in question as "insane."

This would lead to a devastating escalation and would likely result in the destruction of our commitment to the rule of law.

— Chris Murphy

Meanwhile, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, in a statement regarding potential negotiations with the US, said that no progress could be made in talks without reaching an agreement on Tehran's conditions.

Ghalibaf stated that Iran had repeatedly conveyed its conditions to the other side through intermediaries. However, he did not share details regarding the content of those conditions.
