Clear call from Egypt to Israel

Speaking at a press conference held in Cairo, Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly met with Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati. Madbouly emphasized that Israel must withdraw from the 5 strategic hills it has occupied in southern Lebanon. Stating, "We maintain our position on protecting Lebanon's sovereignty," Madbouly condemned Israel's attacks.

Pointing out that despite the partial withdrawal of the Israeli army, it continues to hold the strategic points it captured during recent clashes, Madbouly expressed that this situation is unacceptable.

Touching upon economic cooperation between the two countries, Madbouly said that memoranda of understanding have been signed between Egypt and Lebanon in various fields and that these agreements must be implemented rapidly. Stating that the economic crisis in Lebanon has deepened further with the Israeli attacks, Madbouly expressed that the trade volume could be increased.

Madbouly stated that Egyptian companies are ready to contribute to the reconstruction efforts in Lebanon and announced that he will pay an official visit to Beirut in December.

Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati expressed his satisfaction with Madbouly's visit and emphasized that the cooperation between the two countries goes beyond protocol. Mikati stated that during his visit to Cairo, issues of cooperation in fields such as energy, water, health, and technology were discussed and various memoranda of understanding were signed. He also noted that he had met with Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty.
