Election polls in the US reveal the leading candidate
In polls conducted by The New York Times and Siena College in the US, Democratic Party candidate Kamala Harris has pulled ahead of Republican Party candidate Donald Trump in the states of Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.
The race for the US presidential election between Democratic Party candidate Kamala Harris and Republican Party candidate Donald Trump continues to be neck-and-neck.
According to polls conducted by The New York Times and Siena College in the US, Harris has moved ahead of Trump in Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, states seen as the key to victory for both parties.
The figures released today for these three populous states show a 50 percent to 46 percent split. While the polls indicate that voters prefer Trump on the issues of the economy and immigration, Harris appears to hold a 24-point advantage on the question of trustworthiness regarding the issue of abortion.
The polls present a different picture compared to previous surveys in these states, where Trump was either tied with or held a slight lead over the Democrats' former candidate, US President Joe Biden. Biden withdrew from the race last month and endorsed Harris.
